In this edition of Take Note, WPSU’s Kristine Allen speaks with Lucinda Dickens Hawksley, the great, great, great granddaughter of Charles Dickens.  Hawksley is also an author in her own right.  One of her many books, “Dickens’s Artistic Daughter Katey: Her Life, Loves and Impact,” has recently been updated with new information.

In this interview, we’ll talk with the author about the triumphs and tragedies of her famous family. We’ll learn some interesting facts about Victorian England. And we’ll hear two amazing stories about Charles DIckens: one involving Edgar Allen Poe, and the little-known story of how “A Christmas Carol,” came to be written. (December 19, 2018 marked the 175th anniversary of publication of "A Christmas Carol.")
