Robbie Fulks' most recent release, 2017’s Upland Stories, earned year’s-best recognition from NPR and Rolling Stone among many others, as well as two Grammy® nominations.
Fulks was a member of the Special Consensus Bluegrass Band, and in the 1990’s helped define the "alternative country" movement. Lately his mainly acoustic lineup returns to his earlier bluegrass days, and extends the boundaries of that tradition with old-time rambles and sparely orchestrated reflections on love, the slings of time, and the troubles of common people.
We heard him in concert at the Rusty Rail Brewing company in Mifflinburg, on Sept 29, 2017, and are pleased to share much of that concert with you.
Also in this Folk Show Road Show we gave you a taste of two upcoming concerts: Tom Rush at the State Theatre in State College, and Charlie Parr at Elk Creek Café and Aleworks in Millheim. Listen for the Folk Show Road Show on the third Tuesday of every month, from 7- 9 PM.
