This month's NMS meeting will be this coming Wednesday, October 20, at Boal Hall (the Boalsburg fire hall). Dr. Dru Germanoski will give a talk on "A History of the New Jersey Zinc Operations in the Palmerton Area," which will involve mineralogy, environmental issues, and industrial history but will focus on the geology of the ores found at that site. The Palmerton site is in our own state of Pennsylvania, despite the name of the company which ran it. Doors open at 7:15 p.m., meeting (Annual Meeting of the Corporation) at 7:45, program at 8:00. Wearing a mask is strongly recommended. All are welcome but minors but be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
