During a campaign event, incumbent Republican Senator Pat Toomey spoke out against Pennsylvania’s sanctuary cities and President Obama’s Iran deal. The appearance was a part of his “Keeping PA Safe” bus tour.

Toomey’s also been criticized for not fully endorsing Donald Trump for president - but he doesn’t think it’s significant for his re-election.

He said, “There’s a race for president of the United States, and Pennsylvania voters will make a decision about that, and there’s a totally separate race for the United States Senate. And Pennsylvania voters will make a separate decision about that and I’m confident about how that will turn out.”

According to a poll by Quinnipiac, it’s currently a tight race against Democratic challenger Katie McGinty. For more election coverage, visit wpsu.org/vote16.
