'A Punch To The Gut': Ocean Explorer Finds Trash On Sea Floor During Record-Setting Dive

A 53-year-old businessman from Texas has resurfaced from what he claims is the deepest ocean dive in human history. Victor Vescovo recently spent four hours in a submersible exploring the bottom of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean.

Here & Now‘s Jeremy Hobson talks with Vescovo about what he saw — which included human-made trash, 7 miles beneath the surface.
