Cindy Hassler For Cynthia Hassler, woodblock printing is about the excitement of the process where each step is a chance and the outcome is unpredictable. Starting with objects or images that appeal to her by their shape, colors and textures she looks for patterns within patterns and details that will distort or abstract as the wood is cut away and each layer of ink is applied. Through allowing the print to evolve, a snake skin can become lace, and feathers become trees or a landscape.
