Alternative Christmas Fair
Alternative Christmas Fair
Twenty-nine local, national, and international charities are set to benefit from the 39th Alternative Christmas Fair conducted again this year by University Baptist and Brethren Church (UBBC), 411 South Burrowes Street, State College.
The annual December event gives people the opportunity to earmark donations to their favorite charities in the names of their friends and family members. Since the event began in 1982, a total of $787,404 has gone to the participating organizations. UBBC keeps none of the money. All of it goes to the charities.
Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held online—and not in person—for the first time. A total of $43,575 was raised and distributed in 2020. This year, once again, the event is online. Holiday shoppers who want to continue to take part online will have that opportunity by going to https://ubbcwelcome.org/acf between December 5 and 19.
