WPSU’s Health Minute is a collaboration with Penn State’s Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing.
February is National Cancer Prevention Month. According to the American Association for Cancer Research about half of all cancer related deaths can be attributed to preventable causes.
It’s important to evaluate your lifestyle and current health strategies to reduce your risks for cancer. Some simple strategies are to eat a diet of healthy, unprocessed foods, stay physically active, avoid tobacco products, limit alcohol consumption, engage in healthy activities for the body and the mind, and make time for routine healthcare checkups.
You can find more information on cancer prevention from the Penn State Cancer Institute website.
