It’s important to take care of your mental health and manage stress during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Symptoms of stress include fear, worry, changes in appetite or sleep, worsening of chronic health conditions, or increased use of alcohol or other substances.
You can support your mental health by limiting time engaging with news programs and social media, and by increasing time spent exercising, connecting with others, and maintaining a daily routine. Getting enough sleep and eating healthy also support mental health.
Pennsylvania has a helpline staffed by caseworkers who are available 24/7 to counsel people struggling due to the COVID-19 emergency. The number is 1-855-284-2494.
