A model by the University of Washington predicts 200,000 COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. by October 1. This as more than 2 million Americans have been infected and the death toll breaches 116,000.
And though there are some glimmers of good news — some of the hardest-hit states including New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts are watching their numbers drop — author and pandemic expert Laurie Garrett is critical of the “fragmented mosaic” of responses around the country. She discusses the state of the coronavirus in the U.S. and what the coming months might look like with host Robin Young.
