The coronavirus pandemic has made the work of child welfare agencies more challenging by limiting in-person home visits by social workers, closing courts, and significantly reducing the number of calls to agencies to report abuse or neglect.
The spike in unemployment and the stress of staying home can also exacerbate problems that lead to child abuse and neglect.
