Hospitals around the country have been coming up with guidelines on how staff might ration ventilators and other health care resources if they are in a situation during the coronavirus pandemic when there are not enough to meet patient needs.
Here & Now‘s Tonya Mosley speaks with Douglas White, a critical care doctor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, about this. Over the past decade, White has helped develop an ethics framework to address a potential pandemic and has been consulting with hospitals in recent days about their choices.
