Mid-to-late summer is usually when southern-grown peaches are at their most delicious. But not this year. Thanks to some bad weather, many U.S. farmers are facing a peach crisis. In South Carolina, as much as 90 percent of the crop is gone. In Georgia, the Peach State, it is a similar story.
