Study Finds Two Biases That Hurt Americans' Savings


There are many reasons contributing to Americans’ reluctance to save for retirement, including two biases — called “present bias” and “exponential-growth bias” — according to a new paper published by the National Bureau of Economic Research. Derek Thomspon of The Atlantic explains the findings and explores ways of overcoming such biases with Here & Now co-host Meghna Chakrabarti.
