At Florida Zoo, Heaters Provide Creature Comfort

Temperatures in normally tropical South Florida dipped to near freezing overnight, and that’s prompted the zoo in Naples, Florida, to take unusual steps to keep their outdoor animals warm.

They’re using heaters and heat lamps to keep the cheetahs, wallabies, hyenas and the anteater comfortable. Jack Mulvena, president and CEO of the Naples Zoo, speaks with Here & Now’s Robin Young.
