WPSU's Story Corps, a local oral history project, records and shares the stories of central Pennsylvanians. WPSU is traveling to towns throughout the listening area to give you a chance to record your personal and family history with a friend or loved one.

Today is the 40th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon. In commemoration, WPSU will bring you oral history recordings from Vietnam veterans.

Colonel Lewis Watt speaks with his friend Greg Johnson about his time flying helicopters in Vietnam.   Watt was in the Marines for over 25 years. Johnson was also in the Marines as an aviator.

Terry Nau, author of the memoir “Reluctant Soldier, Proud Veteran” speaks with longtime friend, Katie O’Toole. They became friends in the mid-1970’s when they both worked for State College newspapers.
