While Google is busy running its search, email and smart-device businesses, one division of Alphabet — Google’s parent company — is focused on the future.
X is a moonshot laboratory where minds come together to find innovative solutions to the world’s major problems. Some products that have come out of the secretive division include Google Glass, the self-driving car company Waymo and Project Loon, which uses balloons to bring the internet to remote areas.
Here & Now‘s Jeremy Hobson speaks with The Atlantic’s Derek Thompson (@DKThomp), who was granted rare access inside the facility.
