With the Presidential Primary Election approaching, Penn State Students for Sanders hope to add momentum to Bernie Sander’s campaign. Organizer Justin Kilner said the rally was a good opportunity to share Sanders’ ideas and do some recruiting.

“With the upcoming election we are going to need a lot of volunteers to mobilize the campaign,” Kilner said.

Fellow organizer Kevin Salamon said he agrees with Sander’s ideas about college tuition and student debt.

“He wants to make public colleges tuition free, which would be a great idea," Salamon said. "There’s no need to spend your entire life working off of debt just so you can get an education.”

Rally organizers hope the success of their event will convince Sanders to visit Penn State.
