Penn State has suspended a fraternity after a report of sexual assault that allegedly occurred there on Jan. 15.

The university said in a statement Wednesday that the Office of Student Conduct has placed the Phi Sigma Delta Sigma chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity on "interim suspension" while the Office of Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response and State College Police investigate.

According to a Timely Warning report from the university, a female, who is reported to be a student, disclosed to a third party that she was sexually assaulted by four fraternity brothers at the fraternity, located at 240 E. Prospect Ave. in State College.

Penn State Police received the report online Tuesday.

The university says that during the suspension, the fraternity has lost privileges of student organizations including membership activities, participation in university-wide functions and hosting social events. The fraternity's national organization has been notified and is cooperating.

In a statement Wednesday, State College Police said they have not yet been contacted by anyone involved in the reported incident. Police said they are following up on the incident and asking anyone with information about the alleged assault to contact them by calling 814-234-7150, by email or submit an anonymous tip through their website.
