The Folk Show Road Show: Buddy Mondlock

This month's Road Show featuring Buddy Mondlock, a seasoned performer whose songs have been recorded by Guy Clark, Nanci Griffin, Janis Ian, many more.  We recorded Buddy at a house concert,  a setting that has become increasingly important to touring solo and small group performers.

Laurel and Andrew Zydney have hosted many concerts in their home in State College,  and several have been featured on the Folk Show Road Show already.   Laurel has long-time ties the to Kerrville, TX Folk Festival,  and over the years she has hundreds of emerging and well-established stars in the Folk firmament.  This has put her in a great position to arrange memorable house concerts,  and to host a radio show on WPSU,  The Folk Show—heard Saturday afternoon from 1-5, Sunday from noon-2,  and Sunday night from 10-midnight.

This concert is complete, from the first song to the last,  with just a pause for a break between the two sets.  Including,  Diego,  the Zydney's vocal and inquistive cat.   You'll meet Diego after the first song  ;+)    And at the end of Buddy's set,  we had time to bring you two songs from Dede Wyland and Momma Tried,  a bluegrass quartet that performer last month as part of the Acoustic Brew Concert Series at the Center for Well-Being in Lemont.

Mel DeYoung hosts Morning Edition on WPSU and is in the broadcast booth before 5am each weekday. That means that if he's being sensible he goes to sleep way earlier than normal people do. The differences don't end there, but you'll have to chat with Mel sometime to understand the full depth of his abnormality.
