Democratic presidential hopeful and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders will hold a rally tonight at 7 p.m. at Penn State's Rec Hall. WPSU will be covering the event, but we will not be streaming it. The Sanders campaign is streaming the event here:
With the Presidential Primary Election approaching, Penn State Students for Sanders hope to add momentum to Bernie Sander’s campaign. Organizer Justin Kilner said the rally was a good opportunity to share Sanders’ ideas and do some recruiting.
“With the upcoming election we are going to need a lot of volunteers to mobilize the campaign,” Kilner said.
Fellow organizer Kevin Salamon said he agrees with Sander’s ideas about college tuition and student debt.
Ryan Belz is a senior and an aspiring weather anchor.
“I’ve been wanting to be an on-camera meteorologist since the second grade,” Belz said.
Belz is also involved in student government, where he’s discovered another passion: politics. His experience with politics has prepared him for his most recent endeavor. Belz is running this election season to be a delegate to the Republican National Convention.
